You should check out the archive section, as this has been discussed before.
Their is no real difference in "sportiness", the GT is slightly heavier but more aerodynamic.
The GT has slightly more headroom (and taller windscreen) but legroom is the same.
They are both great, you can't go wrong !

Hi Kristofer,
The Roadster and the GT are nearly identical with the exception of the roof on the GT. GT is a heavier car but for street use I doubt it would be noticeable. If you like winter driving the GT may be the way to go.

I have both, and each has its charms. Can't beat a Roadster on a cool, sunny Spring or Fall day, but the cozy cabin of the GT is welcome on cold, damp Winter days. I'm finishing a restoration my GT now, and the complexity of the windows, trim and interior elements is decidedly more extensive and time-consuming. Since you already have a convertible MG, go for the GT!

One thing to consder is 'bang for the buck'..Most MGB's are a bargain compared to comparable equivalents...the GTs represent excellent value..they are considerbly less to buy than a roadster.(and also far fewer in number..the 'metal dash' GTs now pretty thin on the gound). and you get more car ..plus you can lock it securely.. and fit that bag of golf clubs in the back.
the downside of the GT is summer cabin heat .. BUT.. a/c kits are available and very reasonable to buy.. a GT + the cost of purchasing and installing a/c is still considerbly less than purchasing a roadster..

My FIRST love was the GT but I ended up with a B because I realized I wanted the open air of a convertible in the spring and summer.
If you're keeping the midget - and you've got your hair blowing in the breeze - then go for the GT - it's a gem!
