went for test run this morning <WOW
HARD STEERING needed 2 hands to center the wheel after a turn
also, with the car up in the air takes 2 hands to turn the steering wheel
and i can not move the wheels/tires right to left

what I did and seems to have really helped
I flushed out the old grease best i could with oil
then Greased the 6 nipples steering seems to be back 90+ percent with no test drive < when comparing to the 80B> might come back to 100 percent with some miles..<having good luck with this car so,far>
anything else I can do short of replacements? to help free up the steering

Nelson:

Perhaps the problem is in the steering rack or the column.

You could pop off a tie rod on one side or the other and see if the kingpin swivels as it should.

Possible that the upper and lower steering shafts are not aligned...

To determine if it is the kingpins jack up and support the car. Disconnect the track rod ends and try turning the wheels by hand. If the wheels turn easily, it's not the kingpins. If it is the kingpins try gentle heat around the bushing area to melt out the old hardened grease.

Take the time to understand what a part does and how it does it, then you'll have a better understanding of how to fix it when it goes wrong. Beats the scattergun approach every time.
