Not trying to get too deep here.
I know that some of you use your MGB's as daily drivers and there is nothing inherently wrong with that if you so choose to do that.
I also thought about using mine as a daily driver, BUT, then it ceases to be something 'special'. You know, waiting all those days to hop into the MG and go for a nice cruise.
If you're using it every day to do your running around for whatever, it becomes somewhat 'ordinary'.
Thoughts?

I guess it's all in how you approach it. Mine is my everyday driver, but every morning when I get up, I get to get in my MG and go for a nice cruise, albeit it IS going to work, but a nice cruise nonetheless. It's how you look at it. You guys don't get to enjoy yours everyday like I do......

I drive mine as often as I can during the summer, even taking it on long work drives to visit customers all over upstate NY and CT. I never seem to get over the trill of driving a fun car and enjoy the fact that other crane their necks to take a look.
My car, other than the super-charger and lower stance remains stock in the way it drives and feels, I don't even have a radio in mine. Maybe since you've put some many modern things in your car such as power steering, gps, and stuff it seems like a more modern ordinary car. I dunno!

I'm with you Ron, but that said I'm not against others.
Whenever I used my B as my daily, I admit I found it less enjoyable than when it was my toy. Not the car itself, but I think more driving it in rush hour traffic was not as fun as driving it when the roads are more empty with less ignorant euroblobs driving on it.
That said, I do still take my weekend toy to work sometimes, I just have to be sure to park it the other end of the car park!

You guys bring up some valid points that may affect you because of location. Because of where I am, I have the choice to drive backroads as opposed to interstate most, if not all the way to work and back home, so I can enjoy the drive instead of trying not to get run over by hulking SUV's and such. Just have to keep an eye out for deer... Here lately, I see between 15-40 deer most every day on my drive home, usually standing on the side of the road grazing...

I've only owned mine since March. I drive it on "nice" days because here, we only get about 6 months worth of "nice" days and winter(a REAL winter) is fast approaching(2-4" of snow at my place up north Friday) so it'll soon be relegated to the back of the garage. I've not grown "tired" of it...as it's a reminder of what I consider a pure "drivers" car. Not fast(by modern standards) but FUN. No automation, no gimmicks...just fun to drive on the back roads into town.
It's probably a little different for those of us in Northern climates where the use of these types of cars are usually limited by the extreme winters we see. I'm sure I'll get it out on one of the few "nice"(20° or so)days when the roads are clear and the sun is out. Hell...THAT is convertible weather in January!lol!
I'll have had my fill of AWD/4WD driving by the end of March and itching to get the MG out of it's hibernation.
Oh...and I see my fill of deer as well. Most of the corn is down and the deer love the "left-overs". I find myself dodging more Turkeys lately...however Thanksgiving IS just around the corner!lol!

73 MGB. Tires: Round, black, hold air. Oil: Sometimes old, sometimes new...always slippery. Oil filter: Yellow, usually full of oil. Carbs: 2 SU HIF. Distributor: Yes. Headlights: Not that bright but bright enough. A bunch of other stuff most cars have but not really important enough to itemize. Oh, wait...it has a cool sounding exhaust with stickers on the chrome tips. Really slays the ladies...

I find using my B as a daily driver keeps me in tune with my car. It makes my drive to work something I look forward to and when we take it for jaunts during the weekend I am confident in how the car feels and performs.

I just like driving mine and enjoy every mile I put on it. I still enjoy it at weekends.

Take the time to understand what a part does and how it does it, then you'll have a better understanding of how to fix it when it goes wrong. Beats the scattergun approach every time.

I rarely raise the top on my MGB (I did on Gary's Run) and it is my daily driver in the summer weather permitting. I got the car, not trailer queen, to go back-and-forth to the community college where I worked, and park in the destruction derby parking lot without worrying about the F-250s parked on both sides.
My Buick LeSabre is "ordinary", the MGB is always fun every day.
Be safe out there.

my midget has been my daily driver since 2011 , for 2 years that was a 57 miles each way . Now that I am redoing a bgt I am sure that will share some of the work , and I think there is a good chance mama may give her g6 convertible a break once in a while and venture into downtown Lansing to work with one of them. Quite the opposite to taking the special away , it just means I get 2 more cruises daily and love every minute of them.
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you
