Hi all,

I received this kit with my car (1967 Midget mk3, Sprite mk4) when I bought it way back when. Does it look like a complete rear sway bar kit for a Spridget? I probably won't be using it, so it'll be looking for a new home.

Thanks!

Looks homemade, doesn't look complete to me, you can see on the middle unit where there use to be 2 mounting brackets.

My guess is homemade, and that the top two pieces and the bottom one are a panhard bar, and the last one is a rear sway bar. The top piece would bolt to the floor of the trunk, probably sharing some bolts with the gas tank, the small bracket goes on the rear right spring, and the bottom bar connects the two.

The sway bar looks home made and the panhard bar is a Winner Circle unit from maybe the 70s or 80s.

The panhard bar would be a useful addition but a rear sway bar has to be just right to be usable. If its wrong it is hazardous.

Kurt.

^^^If Kurt doesn't take, I would take the panhard rod set up. I have an identical (though in a bit better shape) panhard rod on my Sprite.

A little polish, paint, and maybe some new rod ends (if they're worn), and it would be ready to go.

Thank you, Leo!!
I'd been willing to buy you a six pack!! Don't know if I'll use it but I do have a Panhard bar on another car and it does control the rear but I think it binds at suspention travel limits. Was figuring on making a Watts link but I have too many projects and the aftermarket Watts are too high priced.

Kurt
