Hey out there; I was told that my office is possibly moving to Indy. And we are looking in the Greenwood area, any good places to drive out there?

That's not too far from the Brown County area.

Further south there are good roads in and around hoosier nat'l forest.

X2 on south Indiana. Head down toward Jasper. Some great drives in Spring and Fall especially.

You will have to learn how to say "y'all" and "all y'all" in southern Indiana. My daughter and family moved to Kentucky a few years ago and we all say "how y'all" now. grinning smiley

Could be "living in squalor down in the holler" of Tennessee. We have our share of great roads to drive in middle Tennessee but you have to dodge the huge dually trucks with big billows of diesel smoke pushing out of their double stacks.

Yep, coming down this way (mid west KY, southern Indiana way) you've got to learn the lingo. Just go to youtube and watch some Jeff Foxworthy.

Hoosier National Forest is some great driving.

We try to stay south of 70. They can still understand us. moon

JMac, you're telling me!

My whole family is from ill-en-oy.
At first it hurt my ears to hear so many Indiana folks saying ellen-noise. Then it sort of started sounding, well, not good, or right, but, well, "that's what they do here", to the point were some times I use that pronunciation with my family to tease them.

Seth and Trevor and JMac have it covered: the northern most and the southern most edges of Indiana are interesting. The middle, flat parts are not. For driving and for lots of other things. My college roommate explained to me that during grade school their "big road trip / grand day out" was to go and look at a gulley. "Because that's all there there was, within 100 miles, which was in anyway interesting, topologically or geographically".

Folks call the square ones the "flyover states" for good reason.

So, it is a great, and very pleasant, surprise to find such enjoyable roads and terrain, in the SE most corner (along the Ohio River), and the NW most corner (along the lake).

I don't know about any roads in Indy but I can recommend a good MG/LBC mechanic in Terra Haute:

Tony Bowen
Collectable Auto Restoration Services
812-240-8632

Tony was very helpful in getting a MG I purchased in Indiana picked up, getting an engine/gearbox dropped in and getting it ready for transport to Colorado. He even stored it for over a month while transportation was worked out. I have never met the guy face-to-face but he is knowledgeable and has been great to work with. Reasonably priced.

If his garage says anything, he has an legitimate addiction/affection for very cool old British cars (mine is the "new" red MGB)!

Ted

I live in so. In. (Bedford). I ride a motorcycle. I think we have some of the best rides (drives) compared to anywhere. Just purchased a Midget, not roadworthy yet. Looking forward to spring. P.S. Frenchlick area really nice!
