Hello All,
I have a simple question, I replaced my ignition switch on my 1976 Midget the other day. Upon attempting to remove the key, the entire barrel came out with the key. Anyone out there have this issue and if so, is replacing the ignition switch my only option or is there something I am missing here?
Thanks,
Don

Hi Don
Replacing the ignition switch was the first repair I completed on my 69'Midget.
It took me sometime to figure it out. You have to assemble the switch, connection rod and tumbler
In the housing correctly or the tumbler will fallout. Pay close attention how the two pieces align in the housing
thats the secret.
Referring to the parts manual isn't much help. When the parts are aligned correctly they fit inside the housing
'snug'. The other problem I encountered was the cowl housing would not fit securely because the wiring on the switch was obstructing the cowl. I found it necessary to 'gently' bent the tabs on the switch flat.
Regards
Jon
