Can somebody tell me what the straps on the inside behind the seats on the rear deck with the snaps are for? I am guessing they wrap the soft top but why would one want to do it?

Cheers
Ron

X2. If you roll the top down in there fairly tight and fasten the straps there will be some storage space under the rolled top, 1971 MGB.

Be safe out there.

I don't have the original straps but I do use velcro straps to tighten up the roll when my top is down. Makes the lid cover look nice and gives some space to let the seatbelt retractors do their job.

Yup. The straps keep the top neatly arranged and facilitates the top cover looking good. It further makes for a respectable bit of storage space under the top, behind the seats..

It also keeps the top of the shoulder belts when stowed. If not you will likely find your seatbelts too tight when the top is down compared to when it's up.

Thanks,

Mike
