Hello,
I'm installing my new rebuilt single rail trans which has never had oil in it. And while it's on its side I'm REALLY going to fill it up. How much oil should I put in? It's already swallowed up 2 quarts of gear oil and there's plenty of room for more. Keep going?

Fill the gearbox when it is upright. Make sure bottom plug is tightened. Remove side filler plug and fill until it runs out of fill hole. No more than 1 quart and it will start running out. When it stops dripping, replace plug.
Gear oil, your choice. Please don't ask what kind to use! Massive Pandora's box!

That's a good point! I didn't think about it running out when it was on its side! Thanks!
