Folks,

I've seen a few MGB's with a foam rubber seal between the top of the radiator and the underneath portion of the hood. This seems to be a good way to ensure that the incoming air is forced through the radiator instead of some passing over it...
Can someone elaborate, and possibly tell us what foam was used in their installation ?

Thank you,
Pete L.

Pre 1977: There are two seals. A cheap grey foam to seal (282-905) the top of the radiator to the radiator support and a rubber seal (282-900) that slips into the groove on top of the radiator support to seal between the support and the bonnet.

1977 to End: Radiator support is not listed so no seal listed for radiator to radiator support or radiator support to bonnet. Hopefully, someone will chime in to verify this.

Square foam for a window air conditioner works well to seal the radiator to its bulkhead and is available at any DIY store cheaply.

I bought some dark grey air conditioner seal foam at Walmart and it fit perfectly without any adhesive. Just tuck it in and presto!
