I have a 1978 MGB

I am sure many have replaced the heater hoses on the engine.

Any recommendations as to type , make, source ?

Is there a type that can be bent /formed and hold the shape ?

Thanks

Blair

NAPA used to make a formable heater hose. It's cross section was sort of tear shaped because there was a heavy steel "wire" about 3/16" dia that ran along the length, formed into the hose. Great quality. Maybe they stull make it?

you can buy pre-formed ones from basically any vendor. i guess as always, you need to worry about inferior rubber. i would speak to Basil Adams (member on here, do a "search", his contact info is in every post). he should be able to get you a quality part at a good price.

personally, i got basically all of mine from Advance Auto Parts' "hose-by-the-foot." but, the present bottom radiator hose came with the car. admittedly, i bought a new one from either Moss or VB and it lasted maybe a year, then split/burst! i put the one that came with the car BACK on (saved it luckily) and it's lasted for a few years. go figure...?
