What vendor did you get yours from? When I did mine I found that the rubber that holds the vent window glass in was to thin and the glass would not stay in the frame. Need to get the right rubber pieces and don't want to get the wrong ones again. Ordered then to long ago to send them back.

And hopefully it won't end up like this after only a couple of weeks.............I had to do the first one twice also only because the small window frame seal to door skin outer was too soft and just spread out when tightening so had to refit the old rubber strip.........

I needed to replace T-bolts, pivit & spring and reseal the window itself.
Intended to replace the full window gasket too, but once installed I hated the fit & finish so ended up using my good old one which has survived well and is still very serviceable.
Hopefully the new base seal will stand the test of time. Lots of stories about crappy rubber, buyer beware!

I replaced mine with no untoward event. I purchased my new rubber from Moss UK and all fit wel enough for my car.
Patience was the 'special tool' I used, as is often the case.

Bryne,
Good effort but you wiill need to address the vent window ill fitting seal. Is this seal being held up by the vent latch? Not sorting this the result will be, 1) not provide the seal you deserve and 2) probably make a nuisance wind noise at + 80 kmh.

Bruce...it must be old age setting in......I had the correct vent window rubber installed the first time. The vent window opens correctly now. It's like there is to much material in that area. I also think that my frame may be warped a bit....maybe some one locked them selves out and preyed the vent window open.

Bryne, try to just ease the rear vertical of the rubber down, then use some K/Y jelly(medcine cabinet) or PTFE lubricant on the underside of the window frame and get it to close with the rubber sitting nicely. Try to leave it closed for a while and it should take a set.
If you leave the seal like you have it in the picture it will take on that form in no time and you won't be able to reshape it correctly.
