I subscribe to Classic MG and MGA! (NAMGAR). I just ordered a trial of Classic Motorsports. Other options?

Mostly I read the MGA shop manual and Barney's site religiously every night.

Otherwise Classic Motorsports, recently started Grassroots Motorsports. Victory Lane, although it's mostly race reports. Safety Fast which my MG friend Glenn gets from England. Glenn also provides Country Life in an effort to elevate my reading list, but I confess that I just look at the pictures.

-- Speaking of Glenn, he was living in "virtual Cornwall", but has recently moved to "virtual Devon" (or do I have it the wrong way around) so that he could be closer to Doc Martin - but I think he's really in love with Louisa.

In any event, I need to urgently find some Volvo publications. See, I accidentally bid on a '57 Volvo PV 444. I didn't really want the car - but I sort of did after seeing Post #1 here http://www.mgexp.com/phorum/read.php?2,3474489. And we had just recently had a big snow storm and I was snow bound anyway and my brain addled when I came in from all of the shoveling. And I told my wife that there was a computer virus, and I was really trying to shut down when the bid went in. .... eye rolling smiley

So after time spent with Barney's differentials page, I went on YouTube to figure out what I had bought, especially since the car's engine sounds like it is about to blow up based upon a video posted by the Seller. Since I can't read anything on the Swedish forums, YouTube seemed a good alternative. But I fell out of my chair and hurt my knee when I saw that the crankshaft and the camshaft are direct drive - i.e., no timing chain. What a dope was I. Now, what with the divorce filed and the prospect of the alimony payments, it's just as well as Sports and Exotics has passed into history. I have to cut back and think I can no longer afford such luxuries. drinking smiley

I agree this is a good magazine, interesting how they cover the current MGs made by SAIC (Chinese company) and MG/Rover (before their demise) cars like the MGF and MGTF (even the ZTs). Many cars we never saw over here. They also cover racing periodically.

Another Kelsey periodical is Classics Monthly which is usually a good read.

An even better read is Practical Classics.

All U.K. magazines though, nothing published here as far as I know.

Good luck on finding suitable reading material.

You just think you're exhausted. The Ten Commandments was nothin'

Here I am up all night trying to get the race car ready for the season, and during the day at work I'm distracted by this.

Oh, OK. Sorry Russ. They're coming in with the elephant stun gun. So back to topic.

MG Enthusiast - easy to get on iBooks so you can avoid mailing delays. +1 for Classic Motorsports, also Sports Car Market and the NAMGAR, NAMGBR mags. But my favorite stuff to read is right here on MGE.

I'm going to really miss Sport and Exotic and don't know what to replace it with. I liked reading about all the different cars they featured each month. I do get MGA from the NAMGAR which I also enjoy.

I am a magazine junkie, and I will really miss Hemmings S&E. I do subscribe to some lefty political magazines and some alternative health journals. I quit Road & Track years ago, but I have old issues back to 1948, and I still pull out old ones to read, and it's a bit like time travel. I have hundreds of old Life magazines back to the late '30s and some Times and Newsweeks from the '40s.

When Hemmings Special Interest Autos quit, and was replaced by Hemmings Classic Car, but that was devoid of imported cars. Of course I subscribed to it and have every issue. Hemmings remedied the absence of imports with the introduction of S&E, but that wasn't until a year or so later. I have every issue of Special Interest Autos too. Also have hundreds of Practical Classics, Thoroughbred and Classic Car, and Classic and Sports Car. I subscribe to Sports Car Market magazine, but it disappoints me because it is devoted to cars that are just too fancy for my tastes, and budget.

I quit buying British magazines due to their high price now, and maybe it's just as well, as my closet and garage shelves are too full of magazines now.

When I die, by wife can have one hell of a bonfire with all those magazines to celebrate her independence.
