The gauge lights for my speedo and gas gauge are not working, but the tach and temperature gauge lights are. I noticed two black wires coming
off of the main black wire with ring connectors on the ends. After doing some research, I believe this to be the ground wire that connects to the back
of the gauges. The wires are currently not connected to the speedo and gas gauges. My question is, could these wires be the culprits preventing
my lights from working? They were already disconnected when I pulled the gauges to investigate so I don't know where they are
supposed to be connected. confused smiley

I would connect them to the bracket nut that holds the gauge in. Make sure bulbs are good.

Could very well be the culprit! The gauge ground is critical on the earlier cars for proper gauge function.
