Fuel line install

Have ordered a fuel line. I know installation is not brain surgery, but I would appreciate any hints that might make it easier. Tank is off and I suspect I need to remove the floor.

Not necessary as long as you don't mind working flat on your back under the car, but it does make it easier.

If removal of the floor is not a problem for you, I would do so. Also the back compartment floor. Makes it a little easier, unless you have access to a lift. PJ

The bending is pretty specific on the firewall and down around the A-Tower to the chassis side rail. There are some pictures on my website, but they are spread out all over, in the initial state section, the tub installation section, etc.

Basicaly, ti comes up in a 2 inch radius or so from the fuel pump and does a 180 to the firewall. Then it does a 45 degree or so angle to the firewall and follows that down to between the radiator stay and the A-Tower stay. A 'P' clamp attaches it to the radiator stay nut. It crosses the A-Tower and then makes a 90 degree turn for the chassis rail.

(edit) the fuel line is also the ground for the fuel level switch, so if you split the fuel for an in-line pump you have to provide a ground path somewhere. Please don't put a filter between the pump and the tank. If it clogs, you will stall out and burn your pump.

Not to bad of a job. Not finished yet, tank on the way back from the painter after refurbishing by Looper, Rockville, MD. Couple of clips departed this world, they are on order from Moss. One mistake was routing the line under the emergency cable, fixed that.

You gotta forgive me for a little braging. I had to install the fuel line to the frame and some of the clips (Moss # 326-326) had expired. This is not an easy job, upside down, 40 degree weather, concrete floor, 74yo old goat. The clips fit into a little hole in the frame and are a little hard to remove. Installing them exceeded my reserve strength for the day until I found floating around my tool box an injector remover tool(Bluepoint YA 8340) which fit over the clip and allowed me to hammer it into the hole.
