With a late model B radiator (cap is on the surge tank, not on the radiator) what's the best way to fill the cooling system and bleed the air out?

On the stock 4 cyl, there was a plug on top of the water neck that you could burp the air out of.

How have you guys with the late model radiator and the 3.4 v6 done it? I'm thinking about putting one of those flush fittings in the heater hose and using that if no one has a better solution.

Doug,

That's what we did on our first car but if the system is sealed well, it shouldn't need much for water.

With the V6 conversion, To fill-

Remove the upper heater hose
place a small funnel on the end of the hose and top the system off
when coolant runs out of the heater core, the system is full or nearly full
Replace the hose back onto the heater core.

To insure there are no bubbles at all,
Squeeze the top radiator hose to allow any bubbles out to the expansion tank from the radiator
the expansion tank will find its own natural level which will NOT be completely full but it should not be empty either.

I should probably check the coolant in my MGB this year. I don't think i did anything last season.

that's what I did with mine, when I converted it back to the stock cooling system, with the v6.

after running it with the cap off of the overflow tank, it would bubble a little into the tank, and draw a little coolant, when cooling down.

it did it for about 2 cycles of warming it up, and, letting it cool down, and didn't do it any more, so, I figure it's full.

just waiting on the weather to come around to do some more driving, but, has performed perfectly, so far.

I did the same way as Brian last summer, no fuss, no mess; pretty much the easiest way.
