After following a thread in the spring about installing a Harley muffler on a B ,I bough ta muffler on e-bay for 40 bucks. I installed it this weekend ,and I'm very happy with the mellow but aggressive sound . In addition the previous owner had installed a walker muffler which was very restrictive which I did not know till I installed the Harley .
It is the best 40 bucks I have spent on the car .It revs up noticeably faster and pickup has improved. The chrome muffler looks sweet. Try it you will like it.

Bob - I too was interested in a Harley muffler as a result of that "thread". I followed Ebay for a few days but did not purchase one. Would you provide a bit more info on which muffler you bought? I never got straight in my own mind, which Harley mufflers were compatible. Also, are you running straight pipe to the rear muffler or do you have something else between the downpipe and the rear muffler?

I'm willing to bet that a stock HD muffler weighs more that just about any other muffler that would fit. If you don't crave that chrome tube sticking out of the rear, try a SuperTrapp. These are highly tuneable using a disk system developed by Paul Muller in the late 60's. These mufflers are still very popular with the motorcycle hop up crowd, especially with those that don't want to get a second mortgage for the titanium and carbon fiber full race kits.
I rant into a guy up in Carlisle Pa that was running one on a Bug Eye several years back and it sounded great.
