Hey guys!

I've searched the forum and Google and came up with a few "how-to's" but I'm still a bit hesitant.

I plan to upgrade to the Moss-Europe alternator, which I have been told is an "18 ACR 45-Amp unit in a Lucas box".
I've read on another forum (the link escapes me) that my tachometer will stop functioning, and that I need an electrical one. This isn't mentioned anywhere else, and it's possible they were referring to a different model year or Bugeye.

Will I also need to replace my tach? I read that it gathers the engine RPM from the generator, which will obviously be gone.

Many thanks!

Your tachometer reads from the ignition coil, unless you have an old 948cc engine which has a mechanical cable driven tachometer from the generator. No need to worry otherwise.
