I have a manual choke on my Edelbrock carb. I am looking to hook the cable to it. I have the bracket that attaches the outer cable to the top of the carb. My question is what goes in the small hole to move the choke? I have MGB cable connectors here but they all require a much larger hole to make them work. What is correct for this? Anyone have a part number or been there done that?
Thanks
Bob

What you need is a choke trunnion of the right size - should be fairly std.

Graham,
The hole in the carb is less than 1/8". I guess I will try a lawnmower shop. I can drill the hole out to a larger size but since its a factory carb it should have a off the shelf part. The hunt continues.

Edelbrock 500 cfm carb. Simple and effective choke connection.

Thanks Simon. That would work. I could use a hood cable tie that takes 2 strands. From what I can see on line these carbs used a hard choke line with a couple of 90 degree bends that went thru that small hole.

No problem, Bob. A trunnion would work as well but as mentioned, you'll have to enlarge the hole in the lever. The small metal "clamp" should be available at any hardware store.

Cheers

That eliminates the stock 'spiral wire' choke cable from being used - problem with solid wire core is the bend limitations in routing.
