Anchorage Daily News says no injuries or damage, but I bet there were some scared people.

I remember on in Anchorage in about 1983 at 6:05AM. I was at work on the 3rd floor of Providence Hospital on the phone with a doctor - "Uhh. Can you hold for a moment?" It was a 6-ish.

A guy I met there went through the '64 quake; he was on one of upper floors of a hotel. He said "I wasn't scared, but I ran past a lot of people in the stairwell who were!"

Didn't feel a thing in Surrey.

Maybe the cold drugs had something to do with it....

Only about 30 miles from my place. We are at our other home but was on the phone to a friend when it happened. He said it shook pretty good and everyone evacuated to higher ground.

I was sitting in my chair actually scanning through the MG Experience forum when I felt myself moving sideways two or three times. The mirror moved in the hallway and I could hear the house creak a few times. We are located around 150 km east of the quake on Vancouver Island but no damage. Many people I spoke to said they felt light headed or dizzy for a moment but it soon past. God knows what the big one will feel like when it comes. Have to remain optimistic. There is a price for living out here.

Ross,

"our other house"? You must be very wealthy to afford that.
This post reminds me of the two lawn chairs tipped over, with the motto-
'We will rebuild!".
