What color were the rear drums on wire wheel MGB's when new? I always thought they came black, but I recently saw a period photo of a '68 MGBGT and they were silver. Thanks in advance to whoever replies! Mike

My 67GT are silver, think someone painted them. Red would look cool, but it your car. My wife would paint them purple, she likes purple...

Someone painted them.

I had mine painted the same color as the car.

Mine are rust colored but they're also hidden behind rostyle wheels. Would POR 15 work on the drums to bring the drums back to factory black? Will it hold up to the heat?

Dupli-color black

You don't need por15
Dupli color stands up to the heat of brakes easily

Yes, if you paint over the rust - that's what POR-15 is for. If you de-rust them then you can paint with many things.

I used black caliper paint just for fun, the one you bake at 200 to get full hardness
