NOT John Twist! smiling smiley

It's always great to find tricks and tips for doing tough jobs without investing hundreds or even thousands of dollars for a single job or occasional use. Purchasing equipment on the cheaper side of the spectrum means it may not operate properly in a few years, even with little use. Maybe we can all contribute and share some great ideas. Not all of us want to build our own garage.

Air compressor $300.00, air hoses $100.00, tools $100.00 = total $500.00

VS

Stick candle $2.50 and lighter $2.50 = total $5.00

I was sent this and just had to share! Brilliant idea!

Maybe the next idea would be JB Weld for minor, non critical jobs: $10.00 - $25.00 VS welder $200.00 - $500.00 plus safety equipment, etc.

This car is now very nearly completely done. Sure to find something else, but not now.........And 12 years later, I'm starting to fix things that were new when we built the car. It's pretty well de-bugged!

Must be true we read it on the web,

VS

Can of PB blaster, 2.50$ = total 2.50$ wait a few minutes, priceless!

There is a guy on this forum that mended an alleged leaking cylinder head with JB Weld, this product is well known to fix anything and everything! winking smiley

To be fair, sometimes PB Blaster needs longer than a few minutes smiling smiley . If I know in advance and can get to the part, I usually start a week ahead of time with a blast every day and throw in some driving too(I think vibration and heating/cooling helps it).

That $10 bottle of MAPP-Pro alos goes a LONG way.

A guy without an impact wrench that intends to work on barn find cars = a Looney

5 lugs X 4 wheels = way to much time

Impact gun = 1 minute per wheel

Anyone get a feel for how much "effort" he put into the Jesus wrench before resorting to candle power? - LOL...

Hey, I resent that comment smiling smiley

A lot of experimental physicists look down chemists because in chemistry, our experiments actually work smiling smiley

BTW, heating the bolt in an oxygen-poor environment(i.e. where it's corroded) does actually change the structure of the corrosion on the bolt.

Hey Ben - I just noticed last weekend when I (finally) cleaned up the garage a 5 gallon container was left behind marked "Chemistry Lab" - There is mysterious green fluid in there.

With Halloween coming I am not going to be killed in my sleep by some morphed/animated green blob of slime am I? I have avoided getting electricity near it or letting it get struck by lightning...
