Hello! We cleaned up penny so she would get a good shine going for the Fourth of July. I started cleaning the engine bed and it seems as if I knocked a hose loose. Looking at another thread it seems as if the flexible rubber hose near the slave cylinder came undone. See pictures.
Thank you

That's a picture of your float bowl on the rear carb?
Appears all its hoses are in place, I don't think its a clutch slave cylinder hose. Could it be a float bowl vent hose hanging down from the front carb?
Trace it back and see if the other end goes somewhere.
I think it's just fuel hose so probably vents or a fuel jumper hose between carbs maybe?

Yes the hose starts at the carb and just lies underneath so judging by what you said it is just a vent. What could be the issue with the clutch? It was working fine and now anytime I press down on it the clutch rattles and sounds terrible.

The stock clutch throwout bearing on these cars is made of carbon. If someone were to ride the clutch a lot it just wears it out. Not knowing the history of yours is it possible that it's been in the car for a long time or is it new?
They start grinding when the carbon gets worn down to metal on metal.
Not saying this is definitely what's up with yours but if you did knock the hose loose from the slave cylinder it would need retightening and probably to be bled of air in the system.
There's probably some video's on John Twist's or Moss motors channels on youtube that would help.

Judging by what you said and what I could find on the issue sounds like it's the throw out bearing as you pointed out. The transmission has been without fluid for some time now but we managed to put some in. About two quarts ended up on the ground. Is the throw out bearing a quick fix or not?

Throwout bearing is a major I'm afraid. Requires engine out to do the switch so it's a good time to schedule so other stuff like clutch.
I hope you didn't run the trans without oil for long.
What are you filling it with?
It uses engine oil just so you know. 20/50 is what the manual calls for. I use a cheap oil spout extension thingy from Wally World.

You may be able to inspect the throwout by popping the rubber plug on the bell housing and having a peek if you have access to a hoist.
