I know this subject has been discussed many times before, but I've not been able to find out a lot about this subject. It seems that the consensus of opinion on the board is that the MC and the Slave cylinder as well as hose should be replace at the same time. My question is, go with rebuild or new? Once again, I'm looking forward to your learned opinions. The car is my '70 roadster.

For the relatively small price difference, I'll always go new. And try to stay with something made on our side of the Pacific Ocean!

This car is now very nearly completely done. Sure to find something else, but not now.........And 12 years later, I'm starting to fix things that were new when we built the car. It's pretty well de-bugged!

You didn't tell whether your 1970 already exchanged (many) times before its hose, MC and SC on the clutch system. If not, always renew everything, do not just renew the seals. If the MC and SC were exchanged not too far in the past by new ones you may gamble on new seals only. Speaking generally: the MC is not always coming back with new seals,. while the SC is a simple system to rejunivate by just new seals. The hose can be a PITA to get off by the way, especially if the link to the metal clutch line between hose and MC fails to loosen. Before you know the metal line turns too much and shears off. There is a recipe for this, but I wonder whether I can easily find my own post on this back
Remind Porter's advice: "if the MC fails the SC often gives up in sympathy" But hoses last longer, I had mine in for over 30 years
PS If the MC goes out, renew the two washers on the hollow banjo bolt, one between the banjo and the MC, the other between banjo and bolt
Some advise heating up those washers before mounting to "anneal" them. Since red copper washers are expensive, more than ever harder yellow copper are being used
