Can anyone with one measure how high the fill cap on those 3-row aluminum radiators from China sits above the top of the tank?
I want to use one of the radiators made for earlier model MGB's in my 1980, which I believe can be accomplished by moving the radiator mounting position toward the engine. I want to install my AC condenser about where the stock '80 radiator now sits.
Do those those Chinese aluminum radiators have drain valves?

Jay,
I can get a measurement for you tomorrow afternoon. Car is loaded on the trailer now so I can't get to it at the moment, but will be unloaded tomorrow after I get home from work. Seems to me that it sits pretty low, not more than maybe two inches. I'll let you know.

No drain valve (AKA petcock). If you need one, before installing, have yout local radiator shop install one

You might be a racer if;
You consider the redline as a "conservative suggestion" and the rev limiter a "fun limiter".

My only worry with that particular radiator is the fact that the inlet and outlet are on the same side.
I wonder if it has been baffled to make the flow go through the whole core. Could be wrong but I brought one with the inlet and outlet on opposite sides for my v8 conversion just in case.

I use the Chinese rads for the MGC and early B and they work just fine even to well in some cases. Mine have the drain valve fitted as well.
The alloy welding is large but value for money great. Shipping by them is around 50$ and are well packaged
Don't be put off by detractors Give David a call at Winner or email mail him for a group buy, If I could send to states at reasonable price I would sell you them.

Jay,
Sorry it took so long. The top of the fill cap measures exactly 1.00" from the top of the tank. There is the issue of the hose inlet and outlet being on the same side, but I remedied that by rotating the thermostat housing to fit. I did have to machine a little material from inside one of the mounting holes, as the three hole pattern is designed to fit only one way. But just a little work and it will go on any way you want it to. Hope this helps.

The inlet and outlet are on the same side on later cars anyway so it shouldn't matter. Only early cars had the inlet on the right hand side and outlet on left hand side.
The price of that radiator is less than record of the stock one, so what have you got to lose?
