Well.
I've used up my collection of 65-68 blocks in the last 20 years. I'm now faced with using an 18V block with bolts for the main caps instead of studs. Any of you using the later blocks? Are the bolts as strong as the studs? I run between 6000 and 7000 rpm the majority of time.

George, the 18V blocks have better main caps and the factory bolts work just fine. Don't be tempted to waste $$ on ARP main bolts as there is no benefit to be had.

Thanks Dave. That means I don't have to mow today, I can prep the block instead.

George, I moved to the 18V block after asking Dave the same question. Too bad you'll miss Houston, I feel the need to learn something new. Happy birthday!

If I can't be fast, I'll just be obnoxious!

Grasshopper,
I plan on making Hallett. Two things keep from Houston: dead motor and the Christening of my granddaughter in New jersey. I better make the Christening, other wise I wouldn't have the balls to race. Birthdays are coming fast. It seems like only Tuesday I was 66.
