Hi All,
When I began poking around in the trunk of my recently acquired MGB, I found a few coffee cans full of parts. Since I don't have a lot of experience with these cars yet, I'm not sure what some of these items are so I thought I'd post a couple of photographs of a few of the parts here to see if anyone here can identify them. These things are all about 2 inches tall.
The first has written on it "Inertia Switch Ltd., Pats. Pend." and rattles when I shake it. I assume it turns something on/off depending on accelerations of some kind. It has two pipes and a silver cap on top.
The second is, I think, the choke that was taken off my Zenith Stromberg carburator when it was converted to a manual choke. What is the orange button on the right side (in the image) that can be pressed?
The third item has two larger pipes that look like they might be used for coolant (?) and a third, smaller pipe, that looks like a vacuum connection to me. Is this part of the emission system?
And, finally, something that looks like a vacuum actuated part on a rather heavy duty mounting plate.
Of course, some of these may not be from the MGB and were just put in the trunk to fool me but they don't, at least, look like any Volkswagen parts or any other car parts I'm familiar with.
Thanks for any input!

if you would edit your profile to identify what year your car is it would help greatly.
the inertia kill switch shuts off the electric fuel pump should you inadvertently park your car upside down or hard up against a tree or such.
#3 is the EGR or Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve.
#4 is a gizmo.<G>
Might have something to do with emissions on rubber bumper (75-later) cars.

SUs, Datsun 5-speed

They're all safety/emissions junk. #-inertia fuel cut off that cuts the fuel in an accident, #2 you have. #3-gulp valve used in the air injection system and #4- EGR valve. Hopefully you will not need any of this junk on your car. Me, I'd put this stuff in a shoebox and then on a shelf because with the possible state of things you MIGHT need this stuff in the future and some of it is NLA
BTW, welcome! Please put the year of your car in your sig so when you ask something we have some idea what you have as it may affect the answer

Hey, Dyer, I used your embedded pics to go back your web site. You've got some great pics over there.
