Well despite my worries on this its first very long run the car ran really well just a slight stumble as I was coming into Leavenworth on Friday on the way to Wenatchee, don't know what the cause was but after a short stop on the side of the road, turn off turn on and no problems since. Trip back was great too with a speed run along Hwy 2 to Seattle and then maintained a steady 120 km/hr (75 mph) all the way to the Canadian border.

Now the bad news......I knew the gearbox was going to need to be looked at as the input shaft bearing was a bit noisy but after such a lot of miles and fast driving oh boy is it noisy.......and it does whine, so out it is going to have to come if I want to take it on my August holiday where I plan to do around 4-5 thousand km.

Oh well more fun times ahead.

I own an MG............Lots of fun and frustration........Just can't beat it.

Hi Paul,

Sorry to hear about your gearbox but at least you made it home in one piece! I didn't know that it was the first time that you had taken a good, long drive in your car

We enjoyed having breakfast with you and Patricia and are glad that you were able to come to the Run this year.

Paul:
I have a cannibalized Camaro T5 transmission on hand. Mainshaft is bad, some of the gears as well but if you need pieces let me know.

How does the 3rd gear synchro look?

The Roadmaster needs one, maybe we should start looking into that.
