No doubt, the exhaust will expel golden hued smoke.

It looks far more correct than most. A few items I noticed:
Incorrect exhaust and front spoiler as mentioned earlier. I would also expect a better job on the seats for that kind of money, although it does have the correct one year only 1969 seats and tonneau cover. Unfortunately, the rare tonneau cover has two holes cut in it that shouldn't be there. Not sure what those "buttons" are below the holes. It is missing almost all the smog equipment. Jack should be painted black. The trunk should be body color and the ash tray base should be satin flat black. It looks like they were sprayed with bed liner. Not a fan of the British flags on the trim. I wonder if they are hiding a defect under one of them? The floor mats are a little different than the originals, although I have not seen reproductions that are identical to the originals. The radio center console looks reproduction without the original grain. The stitching on the steering wheel is incorrect. It appears to be an MGB wheel with an aftermarket leather cover. Some of the items under the hood are the incorrect color or finish.
Despite these relatively minor issues, it is a nice car. Not sure it is worth 33k. At that price point, you are getting into Porsche 911 (997), Ferrari 348 and C6 Corvette range.

Holes in tonneau cover should be there to allow fastening of the lap/shoulder harness to the body....buttons are the actual seat belt mounts which have plastic locking tabs on them. Good car with some previous owner personal modifications to his taste but would be interesting to see some "during restoration" pictures to know what was originally under that shiny paint to justify a price that high.

Aside from the LE Spoiler (which looks far more "wrong" than I would have thought it would), I like it.
Hope they get a bidding war over it. It's been nice lately to read all of the "maybe the press was wrong back when" articles that seem to be popping up.
(In reality, the success of the factory Sebring cars and the fairly simple upgrades Downton did to greatly improve the factory C speaks volumes about how poorly run the Leyland operation was. Even if I'd known back when that the press was reviewing a poorly prepped example of a car that was being delivered to the consumer in a not-quite-finished state and that the press cars had underinflated tires I'd have wondered what mysterious snafus and gremlins awaited me (even with the Downton upgrades) and what kind of service I'd be getting. I'd have likely bought American. Kudos to original owners like Bruce for seeing the potential and bringing the Abingdon offering up to snuff.)

I don't understand why it seems to be mandatory to pick apart any and all cars found for sale.

I stand corrected. I forgot about the seatbelt mounts.

If you ask an "outstanding" price, you open yourself up to criticism because the expectation would be equally high. Kind of like a basketball player who states "I am one of the 10 best players ever", He better have the stats to back it up.
