Hi, all. Not strictly an MGA question, but a question about water pumps of that vintage. I have an 803cc engine in my Austin A30. I sent the water pump out to be rebuilt. After I got it back, the rebuilder called me and said his assistant wasn't sure he packed my pump with grease, so I should be sure to pack it with marine grease before I used it.

So, how do I get the grease in? My guess is I remove the slotted plug, fit a grease nipple, and apply the grease. Does that look/sound right to any of you? Thanks.

Either that or ask the rebuilder that may have left the grease out.
