I got a chuckle on the weekend. The previous weekend back home I took of the last of the bits I wanted from my scrap donor 1972 GT shell. My brother who's a bit of a perfectionist sees a pile of parts in the shed like a steering rack and rear axle that are rusty and ****e, so decides to swap them with the known good units on my 72 GT.

Back axle swap was fine, but after about 2 hours of apparent cursing, throwing tools on the floor and kicking the crap out of whats left of the GT my dad calls me "Why won't this steering rack fit?"

"Erm, because the rack in the shed is from a R/B and the GT is a chrome bumper, the intermediate shaft is longer on the former dad"

I was on speaker phone so my brother heard and erupted with a loud f-bomb rant about why he just wasted 2 hours of his life on trying to fit a steering rack to a scrap POS.

Made me chuckle!! He's an expert on Hillman (Sunbeam) Imps, but really should have asked me first when it comes to B's :p
