Registration says 76, but the VIN suggests 75. Car was purchased in June of 1975, I'm assuming that makes it a 75. I'm building up a list of parts to replace, and the brake booster etc is different for a 75 and a 76.
Is there a sure fire way to know what year the car is?
Related, can a 76 brake servo and master be used on a 75?
Thanks!

There is a plate on the driver's door sill that says when it was built - example June 75. But although my B was manufactured in (coincidentally) June 75, and sold as a 75, many part on it are actually 76 - such as brake components. That's why it is very important to go by your serial number when ordering parts, rather than the year listed on your registration. I had the same sort of problem with a Lotus Elise. It was manufactured in 2006, but was sold in 2008, so it was registered as on 08, even though it was really an 06.

Great advice, I'll be sure to triple check.

Based on your VIN, your car was built between Jan/75 and Sep/75. First car (roadster) for the 1975 calendar year was 368090. First car for the '76 model year was 386601.
You can add the later brake booster to your non-boosted car but you'll need the entire pedal box assembly from a later car and have to modify the shelf where the pedal box attaches. I went the opposite route by installing a dual-circuit, non-boosted brake system in a '77 B shell that I also added a Rover V8 into. In my case, I had to drill a couple of new holes to attach the box cover but otherwise, it was a relatively easy swap. I also redesigned the brake line circuits to eliminate the PDWA (pressure differential warning assembly).
