That hood is HUGE.

If it could be better, it's as good as broken.

This car is now very nearly completely done. Sure to find something else, but not now.........And 12 years later, I'm starting to fix things that were new when we built the car. It's pretty well de-bugged!

by the time someone finishes the undone work they will be into it for more than you could buy a nicely finished V8 conversion

I'm definitely with Rob at first glance. High likelihood of that thing being a nightmare. But, if a person could get better pics or look at it in person, there's a chance that it's something you could work with. First off, it doesn't appear that the stupid hood is even necessary. The heater shelf is gone and the engine sits way back, I doubt if hood clearance is an issue. The top radiator hose looks like it would cause trapped air, but that's easy to fix with a different thermostat housing that points forward. The one pic you can see the floorboards in, they look strangely smooth. Either flat steel welded in or (dry heave) fiberglass. And last but not least, every time I see an mgb with a giant B&M shifter in it I die a little. But seriously, you'd at least want to look at the engine/transmission mounts, driveshaft etc. just to make sure it's not a death trap.

I look at as a hot rod, or a rat rod, not so much a correct MGB.
