Would these tires fit? I know the OD is .2 inches smaller than the 185/70/R14 so that's not an issue as far as ride height goes but what about width clearance? Thanks

If you're installing them on stock wheels, then there shouldn't be any issue.

I run 195X60X15 tires on my lowered 80B.

You will want to check clearance on the rear between the tire and the fender just above the lip.

Bad picture but you get the idea. Front has been lowered since pic was taken. Still no issues.

I just looked at the picture of your car and I see that it's not lowered so you will have no issues at all with the 195X65 tires.

And you probably wouldn't even if it was lowered.

We recommend this size for the 14x5.5 VTO wheels on a MGB, which are +22mm offset, they work fine, it actually works out to be with that tire the tire sit inboard about .350" more than the 15 +24mm wheels do on the MGB which is proven fitment, so it is no issue. I ran this set on my street MGB for awhile, lesser offset wheels like +12mm or +15mm might make it close, anything around +20mm-+25mm offset in a 14x5.5 it work fine. The 195/65/14 size when compared to the 185/70/14 size is less than 1% difference tin diameter or circumference. This gives you a choice to run a better H, or S rated performance tire vs a passenger car tire.

Here's a quick look at 195/65/14 tire availability.

A bit too wide for the stock rims IMHO. Too much curve in the sidewall looses any advantage of the wider tire.

The OP has minilites so that isn't an issue. Nor is the 2/10ths of an inch diameter.

All, thanks for the input. I don't want to make a large investment in tired for a car that I drive less than 2,500 miles a year so I am still undecided but have all the tools needed to make a wise choice.
