Is a 12G295 any good on a 1275. I see notes about modifying to use on a 948 but was this originally a 1275 Head.? Wondering?

A 12G295 is from a a 1098. You might be able to bolt it onto a 1275 but it won't work properly. It has smaller valves and combustion chamber volume than a 1275 head.
